Handler Notes
Overall Progress Homer finished his training week with some positive improvement. He has become more familiar with the training routine and is showing better engagement with his handler. He is still energetic and can become distracted easily, but he is beginning to listen more consistently and is learning to refocus when redirected. Basic Commands Homer has improved with his name response and “sit” command. He is responding more consistently when his attention is gained. His “stay” has also improved. He is beginning to understand that he needs to remain in position and can hold the command for longer with guidance. Leash Walking Homer has shown some improvement with leash walking. He still pulls when excited or distracted, but he is becoming more responsive to his handler and is starting to understand the expectation of walking calmly. Regular practice at home will be important to continue reducing the pulling. Ball & Fetch Homer remains interested in ball play and is engaging more with his handler. We continued working on getting him to return the ball rather than keeping it or running away with it. This is still an area that requires regular practice and reinforcement. Socialisation & Impulse Control Homer is still very excited when seeing people, but he is showing some improvement in his ability to redirect his attention back to his handler. Continued controlled socialisation will help him learn to remain calmer and more focused around people and other distractions. Exercise & Stamina Homer has adapted better to the daily training and exercise routine. His stamina and ability to remain engaged are gradually improving. Regular walks and controlled exercise at home will help continue building his fitness and focus. Recommended Home Practice To maintain his progress, we recommend continuing with: * Sit and stay * Name response * Calm leash walking * Recall * Returning the ball * Impulse control * Controlled socialisation * Regular walks and exercise Final Trainer’s Notes Homer has made some positive progress throughout his training week. He is becoming more responsive to his handler and is beginning to understand the basic commands and expectations. He is still more excitable and easily distracted, so consistency and patience at home will be very important. Short, regular training sessions will help reinforce what he has learned and continue improving his focus, leash walking and impulse Homer will continue week 2 from MondayPhotos & Videos — Day 5
