Handler Notes
Overall Progress Today marks Marge’s 10th and final day of training. Over the two weeks, Marge has made steady and positive progress. She has become more attentive to her handler, more familiar with the training structure and more responsive to instructions. Compared with her first day, she is showing a better understanding of what is expected and is able to maintain her focus for longer periods. Marge is a willing learner and has responded well to consistent, positive training. Basic Commands Marge has developed a better understanding of her name, sit and stay commands. Her sit is becoming more consistent, and she is able to hold her stay for longer periods. The next step is continuing to practise these commands around different distractions so they become reliable in everyday situations. Leash Walking Marge has shown good improvement with her leash walking over the 10 days. She can still become excited and pull at times, but she is much more responsive to her handler and is learning to walk in a calmer and more controlled manner. Regular walks at home will be important to maintain this progress. Ball & Fetch We have continued working on ball play and encouraging Marge to return the ball to her handler. She has become more engaged during these exercises, although the return and release should continue to be practised so that it becomes a consistent part of her play. Recall Marge has shown improvement with recall and is becoming more responsive when called. Continued practice in a safe, controlled environment will help strengthen this behaviour before introducing more distractions. Impulse Control & Socialisation Marge can still become very excited when meeting people, but she has improved in her ability to redirect her attention back to her handler. She has learned that excitement does not mean she needs to immediately react, and continued work on calm greetings and impulse control will help reinforce this. Exercise & Stamina Marge has adapted well to the increased activity over the 10 days. Her stamina and ability to remain engaged during training have gradually improved. Regular walks, exercise and short training sessions at home will help maintain this progress. Recommended Home Training To keep building on the work completed during the 10-day programme, we recommend continuing with: * Name response * Sit and stay * Calm leash walking * Recall * Fetch and return * Impulse control * Calm greetings with people * Regular walks and controlled exercise Short, consistent sessions are better than long sessions. Keep the training positive and finish while Marge is still engaged. Final Trainer’s Notes Marge has had a positive 10 days of training and has shown steady improvement throughout the programme. She is more attentive, responsive and comfortable working with her handler than she was on Day 1. She has built a good foundation in her basic commands, leash walking, recall and impulse control. The training does not stop here — consistency at home is the key to maintaining what Marge has learned. With regular reinforcement, patience and continued practice, these behaviours can continue to develop and become part of her everyday routine. Well done, Marge, on completing your 10-day training programme!Photos & Videos — Day 5
